A patient was stung by an insect.  Pain at site of sting, nausea, dizziness, SOB.  Patient has symptoms that need to be treated by another health professional.  OTC treatment is not appropriate here due to the severity of the patient’s symptoms following an insect sting. Referring the patient to the ER immediately is the correct recommendation here because the patient could be experiencing anaphylaxis.
