You are invited to submit an abstract/s to be reviewed for inclusion in the symposium program as a poster snapshot presentation. The Abstracts Subcommittee will consider work in progress, narrative presentations and work presented at other fora (although this must be clearly stated).

Abstracts are being accepted across three themes:

  1. MyDispense Research / MyDispense Sharing of Practice – encompasses work on the implementation, evaluation, and/or student/teaching experience using MyDispense.
  2. Simulation Teaching Innovation – may involve presentation of data or sharing practice on use of simulation in teaching and learning (other than MyDispense, such as Electronic Health Records).
  3. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Simulation– encompasses any presentation of data or sharing practice on equity, diversity and inclusion through healthcare simulation
  4. Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in Pharmacy Education – encompases the use of generative AI by educators and/or students. Includes opportunities and challenges for the use of these technologies in education.

Poster presentations will not be displayed on poster boards. Posters will be presented in Poster Snapshot sessions, where authors present two-minute oral highlights of the work delivered in conjunction with a single PowerPoint slide (no animations).

General Abstract requirements

  • All abstracts must be written in English with the body word count limited to 300 words(excluding references).
  • Abstracts are required to include the following sections: Background, Aim, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
  • Up to five keywords should also be suggested. A maximum of eight authors is allowed per abstract. Please indicate the corresponding/presenting author.
  • Reference citations are based on the Harvard style of referencing. References (optional) should be alphabetised at the end of the manuscript text, in the following formats:

Books: Kozlowski, L. T., Henningfield, J. E., & Brigham, J. (2001). Cigarettes, nicotine, and health. Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage Publications.

Edited book chapter: Weinstein, N. (2001). Smokers’ recognition of their vulnerability to harm. In P. Slovic (Ed.), Smoking: Risk, perception, & policy (pp. 81-96). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage Publications.

Submission deadline

The deadline for poster abstract submissions is 5 PM, 20th February 2025

Additional submission requirements

The following is an overview of what you are required to prepare if your abstract is accepted:

1. One Poster Snapshot slide requirements:

  • This slide should convey key points only, as suitable for a 2-minute presentation.
  • Create ONE slide in PowerPoint (or a similar presentation program such as Keynote)
  • Use landscape orientation with slide set to Standard Dimensions (4:3)
  • Do not include animations in the slide.
  • All contents should be simple and not overloaded with detail – minimising detail maximises information transfer.
  • Save the final version as PPT and send the slide to mydispense1@monash.edu by 28th May 2025.
